Literature Text

Above deck on Hook’s ship, Mr. Gold leaned against railing still holding his rod. He knew he was ready to give his life for the boy who he had found out was his grandchildren. He just wished his son lived long enough for him to see that he was doing the right thing.

“Mr. Gold,” he heard his name which snapped him back to reality.

Mr. Gold turned to see Charming. “Your highness,” he said and then backed over the water.

“There may be a chance that Baelfire’s still alive,” he told the older man. It was weird for the prince to use his son’s real name when Emma still called him Neal.

“How do you know this?” Mr. Gold asked.

“For the same reason you knew somewhere deep down that Belle was still alive for the past 28 years before you found out she was still alive,” Charming told him.

Mr. Gold turned looking at Charming. “Are you saying you’re daughter’s true love is my son?” he asked incredulously.

Charming crossed his arms. “That’s exactly what I’m saying,” he told the older man. “There’s still hope, Mr. Gold. When my wife and our daughter went to our land, they met two good people who helped them. It could be the lucky coincidence that is who has Baelfire, and according to my wife, they would take of him.”

“There’s has to be way to get back to our land,” Mr. Gold said.

“We’ll figure it out, Mr. Gold,” Charming said. “If all of us stick together, we’ll figure it out together.”

Mr. Gold nodded and looked back out at the water. For the first time in days, he felt hope, and he hoped he could keep hoping that he would make it through to see his one more time.
